DUFFY, Alex

At North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site, Sunday, April 23, 2006. Alex Duffy beloved husband of the late Yvonne Duffy and predeceased by son, Ronald. Alex will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Gail and daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith of North Bay and sister, Annetta Gettings of Uptergrove and brother-in-law, Joe Desjardins of Coniston.. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Catherine and William Duffy, sisters, Lorena Foster, Joanne Cleary, Madeleine Duffy and brothers, Patrick and Peter Duffy.



Alex was employed by Ontario Hydro for 47 years retiring as Lines Supervisor of the Northeastern area.. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Regal Road, Trout Lake and was a most successful gardner. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 1007 and the North Bay Granite Curling Club . Alex was active in parish work at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption for 50 years. He was head usher of the former 10:00 a.m. Sunday mass for over 25 years and one of the first senior alter servers for funeral masses.



Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations to North Bay General Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
