April 20, 1953 – May 4, 2023

Fudge lived his life fully present and to the maximum possible. There wasn’t a party he’d miss, a road trip he wouldn’t go on, a call or text he wouldn’t answer❤️

He loved food, oh did he ever love to eat! Making jokes & laughing was his specialty, and that laugh is embedded in our memory forever.

His ultimate love was his family, a loving wife that stood by his side to the last second, making sure he had everything & anything he ever wanted or needed. A house full of gazelles as he’d say it, 4 kids that he can’t remember how he survived raising, 3 new Doucette sons and a future new Doucette daughter. But the love in his beautiful eyes for his 3 grandsons was a whole other level of love. He wanted to be present for all of it, every minute of everything and while he couldn’t be with us forever, his family will forever carry the love he gave while he was with us.

Survived by his wife Michelle Lahay of almost 44 years, his four children, Cee-Jay Mayer (David), Cherry Butler (Daniel), Candy Foisy (Jean), Magnum Doucette (Kara), three grandsons, Kale and Quinn Butler, Felix Foisy, his mother Madeleine Doucette, his sister Lucette “Toune” Edelman and her daughters Angela Patton (Ian), Josette Edelman (Chris), his brother Rheal Doucette (Debbie), sister and brother-in-law Carole and Steve Labreche, their three children, Cody Labreche (Rachel) who was his godchild, Travis Labreche, and Kassandra Labreche (Caffer).

Predeceased by his infant daughter Cindy (1982), his father Rheaume Doucette (2008), father-in-law Bernard Lahaie (2009), and mother-in-law Cecile Lahaie (2016).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 22nd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Ste Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Mattawa. Family will receive friends and extended family at the church starting at 10:30 am.  Followed by a lunch upstairs at the Mike Rodden Arena.
