Passed away at the North Bay General Hospital on Monday January 3, 2011. She was in her 89th year. Dear mother of Sharon (Gorman) Brisson and the late Donelda Lawrence survived by her son in law Jim Lawrence. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Susan (Tim) Des Roches, Jim (Trudy) Lawrence, Stacey Lewis, Kim (Mike) Rickertsen and great grandchildren Courtney and Parker Lewis, Gillian and Carter Rickertsen and Maddison and Tristan Lawrence. Dorothy is also survived by her brothers Glen (Gayle) McLeod, Stan (Heather) McLeod, Kirk (Jean) McLeod and sisters Marjorie McMillan, Vera Blackburn, Ruth McCaig and Beverly Hammond. She was predeceased by her parents Seymour and Ivy McLeod and brothers Gary, Wayne, Gerald, Fred and Keith. Dorothy was a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Rebecca Lodge. The family will receive family and friends at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday January 7th, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday January 8th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundations would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
