It is with profound sorrow that the family of Paul G. Donnelly announces his sudden, yet peaceful passing at his home on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 54 years.

Those lucky enough to know Paul in his childhood & teens in Kapuskasing and in his 20s to 30s in North Bay, knew a handsome boy and young man of immense wit, mischief and creativity. The stories are too numerous to count of wild times on motorcycles, in fast cars, on black diamond ski runs, racing boats, sinking boats, runaway dogs, in trucks you could hear from 3 blocks away, endless practical jokes, and many impractical ones too. Make no mistake that Paul lived on his own terms, with his foot on the gas till his very last days.

A beloved father, brother, son, and entrepreneur and a fire-fighter of 20 years. Paul’s creativity and instincts lead to several fulfilling business ventures, however in recent years he did endure significant personal setbacks related to PTSD and he lived with the many persistent and severe symptoms of this serious and misunderstood disease.

The reality of his suffering, and those closest to him, and his numerous attempts at rehabilitation and treatment must be acknowledged.

We thank those who stood by him in his later years with their relentless support, care, and for their boundless unconditional love.

May his laughter, sense of humour & mischief transcend.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a future date. To honour our Paul and to support those suffering directly or indirectly from PTSD please donate to http://www.ptsdassociation.com/take-action or CAMH. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
