DICKER: Ann. ARCT

At the North Bay General Hospital – McLaren Site, on Saturday, May 5, 2007 in her 93rd year. Ann was the beloved daughter of the late John Dicker and the former Annie Louise Wonnacott. Ann was the beloved sister of the late Mabel and Herman Clark; Fred and Marie Dicker; and Nancy Dicker.


Ann was the loving aunt of Nancy Moxley and her husband Robert; John Dicker and his wife Jo-Ann; Francis Rea and her husband David; and Jane Cockburn and her husband Douglas “Scotty”. Lovingly remembered by her great nieces and nephews and their children, cousins in England and Australia, and her many friends.

Ann worked as a Clerk in the CPR Freight Office for 17 years; as a Legal Secretary for the Law Office of John Paquette; and retired from the Ministry of Education. She also taught music to countless children from her home, sharing her gift of music with others.
“When I was working, it was my bread and butter, but I had my mind on music."

Ann was a member of the North Bay Rotary Club since 1937 and played for the Rotary Songsters. She was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship. Ann was the organist for many years at Calvin Presbyterian and Trinity United Churches, as well as entertaining at incalculable functions over the decades. Ann’s radio program ‘Wings of Song’ was broadcast live on CFCH Radio for 16 years. Ann was inducted into the North Bay Musicians and Entertainers Hall of Recognition in 2004.

Ann’s family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home (across from City Hall) on Tuesday, May 8th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 9th from 1:00 PM until time for the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service with interment of ashes in the family plot at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
