“A heart stopped beating today"

It is with great sadness and heartfelt pain that the family announces the passing of Fernand Deschamps on Friday May 12th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 4th, Fern was in his 87th year.

Together again with his beloved wife Jeannine (2021)

Predeceased by his parents Jovide and Julie nee Laferriere. His brothers Aurel (Lucille), Lucien (Pearl), Roger (Shirley) Emile (Bea).

Survived by his children Suzanne (Denis), Isabelle (Louis), Victor (Shelley), and Dorval (Casandra). His brother Adrien, and sisters Yvette (Robert), Lillianne, and Irene and all their families. He will be missed by his furry little sidekick Bella.

His many nieces and nephews along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Will miss his smiles, cuddles and him sharing his corn puffs.

Fern worked for the mill in both Kiosk and Rutherglen as a heavy equipment and lathe operator. Retiring at 60, he enjoyed his summers camping at the Corbeil 4 Seasons Country Club. Sitting around the campfire and listening to the music as the guitars came out. You could always count on Dad having the coffee going early in the morning as friends dropped in for their first cup of the day. A tireless volunteer at the 4 he could be found cutting grass, cleaning floors in the club or playing darts, horseshoes, and cards.

A Celebration of life for Dad and Mom will be held at the Corbeil 4 Seasons Club in Corbeil Saturday May 27 at 2 pm

We will be doing a potluck lunch; we ask you bring your instruments for a jam and stories
