Life long Mattawa resident Shirley Davison died at the Mattawa General Hospital on Saturday April 19th at the age of 59 years. For the past 36 years Shirley (nee Thilbert) has been the beloved wife of Neil Davison. The proud and loving mother of Richard (Claudette) of Mattawa and Amy (Steven) of Innisfil, she will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Alana and Myles. Predeceased by her parents Harvey and Isabel Thilbert, Shirley is also survived by brothers and sisters Leonard Simpson, of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Carl Simpson and Ida Simpson (Maurice) both of Kapuskasing Caroline (Stanley Barr), Theresa Simpson, Garry Thilbert and Bobbie Thilbert, all of Mattawa, Judy Rose, of Sudbury, and Elmer Thilbert (Micheline) of Mississauga. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters in law June Brayshaw of Mattawa and Alice Simpson of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and her many nieces and nephews. A dedicated wife and mother Shirley was a talented knitter and quilter and an accomplished bowler. Friends may pay their respects at the MARTYN-SLOAN MATTAWA CHAPEL on Monday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Tim Moyle in St. Anne's Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 22, 2008. Cremation to follow. If desired donations to the Mattawa General Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
