It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Victoria (Vicki) Irene Davis (Sparkes), on Sunday March 24th 2024 at the Yee Hong Peter K. Kwok Hospice in Scarborough following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Mom was born in Carling, Newfoundland on May 24th, 1943, and was the daughter of Eric and Sadie Sparkes.

She was the loving mother to her sons, Paul (Jennifer), Perry (deceased) and Jason (Kelcy).

She will be affectionately remembered by her siblings, Stewart Sparkes (Hazel, both deceased), Roland Sparkes (Cindy), Donald Sparkes (Edith), Jean Cullerton (Mike, deceased), Sylvia Brake (Warren), Rita Cooper (Ken), and Wanda Labelle (Rick).

Vickie also leaves behind her grandchildren, Taylor Marson (Davis), Tanner Davis and Zach, Morgan, Parker and Hadley Davis, as well as her two great grandchildren, Matthew and Neve Marson.

Vicki found joy in her extensive family of several nieces and nephews who supported her throughout her journey. A special thank you to our cousin Dawn, Aunt Cindy and neighbour Sharon, who gave of their time to assist Mom in countless ways this past year.

Our mom was a kind-hearted, caring person who could often be found making meals for some of her neighbours in her building. You could also never leave her place without some of her baked goodies.

Mom enjoyed knitting and would make receiving blankets and toques for new-born babies for her local hospital.  She could also be found in her garden taking care of things, often feeding birds as well as the other wildlife that would visit her backyard.  She

was an avid dart player and card player (Euchre was her favourite). She also loved visited the casino or volunteering her time for special functions in her building.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be Celebration of Life on Friday May 24th from 2-4pm at the St. Martins Anglican Church, 1203 St. Martins Drive, in Pickering, Ontario.

Please join us to celebrate our mother for some refreshments, beverages, stories and tales.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Yee Hong Peter K. Kwok Hospice in Scarborough as well as the Canadian Cancer Society.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever…
