DAUR, Alexander Theodore 'Alex'

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected death of Alex at his residence on August 6 2015 at the age of 48 years. Alex is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Nickels and his daughter Delaney, step-daughters Kimberly and Amy, his mother Marie-Luise Fraenkel, his brothers Chris Daur (Kelly), Reinhart Daur (Selina), and sister Kathy Wilson (Ken). Alex was predeceased by his father Egon Daur in 1994. He will always be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Joshua, Jordan, Meaghan, Brandon, Jacob, Daniel, Emily, Charlene, Kaitlin and Aaron.  Alex was the co-owner of Gateway Landscaping in North Bay along with his partner and good friend Steve “Oakie” O’Connor. Alex will be sorely missed by all who knew him especially his best friend Evan Brousseau. The family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Tuesday August 11, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral celebrating Alex’s life will be conducted on Wednesday August 12 at 11 a.m. in the McGuinty Funeral Home chapel. Cremation will follow at Lakeview Crematorium. If desired donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
