CRAWFORD, Adelina

July 6, 1916 – November 23, 2007. Entered into eternal rest at Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. Adelina leaves behind her children, Claudette Elliot, Catherine Baker (Harris), Molly Huston (Glenn), Richard (Lisa), Genevieve Turgeon (Bill), Nestor (Theresa) and Cheryl Crawford; 14 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Transcona, Manitoba, Adelina married William “Bill” Crawford, August 5, 1940 and resided in North Bay for 42 years and in Sturgeon Falls for the last 17 years. Adelina was first and foremost a mother and homemaker. She worked at Towers for a few years before accepting the position of school crossing guard on O'Brien Street in North Bay. She often spoke about the young children she would greet with a big grin for many years. Until a few years ago, Adelina volunteered on many committees and was an active part of the commuinity; she was also an avid card player and she will be missed by her many friends. Predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Crawford, her parents, Albertine and Cyrille Desrosiers and her sister, Velma Charney.



Family and friends may pay their respects at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today, from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. Funeral services will be conducted at McGuinty Funeral Chapel, Monday at 2 p.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Luncheon will follow in the McGuinty Funeral lounge. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association, in Adelina's memory, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
