February 15, 2016 at Southlake long term care facility, Newmarket, Ontario. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty while in her 87th year as the result of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Betty was a born in Latchford, ON, the first child of Margaret Campbell and Roy Grozelle. Betty`s mother died while still very young and as the oldest child Betty helped raise her siblings until her marriage. Perhaps for this reason Betty placed her family before all else and was at her happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews – and her many friends who were her extended family. A wizard in the kitchen Betty could create a feast from an empty cupboard, her baking was legendary and all was cooked, served and cleaned up as she bounced around the kitchen with a steady stream of stories, a ready laugh and a twinkle in her eye. Betty is survived by her husband Leno (Corky), sisters Barbara (Arnold) Goodine, Daintree (Ken) Wright and Mitzi and brother Ross (Debbie); daughter Daintree (Jon) Sickle, sons Dino and John (Julie) and grandchildren, Kory, Darren, Justin, Scott, Olivia and Eric, predeceased by her brothers Leo and Roy (Sonny). Viewing will be Saturday, February 25 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES. A service will be held on Sunday, February 26 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
