Peacefully at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Centre on Friday, March 7, 2008, with his family by his side. Donald, was the beloved husband of Bernice Elsie Beaton, he was 90 years old. Loving father of Dr. John (Clyde) and his wife Kathy and their daughters Jill, Amy and Lori of Richland, Washington, Nadine Conrad of Niagara Falls and Brian and his wife Cathy and their son Thomas of North Bay. Predeceased by his infant son James Calvin. Donald was also predeceased by his siblings Christine Carew, Helen Summers, Marjorie Drew, Tom, Ray and John Conrad. Lefty was an avid competitive baseball player, and was known throughout Northern Ontario for being on many Championship teams. Donald was a proud employee of the Ontario Northland Railway, for over 30 years. Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12th, from 12noon until time for Memorial Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Cemetery and Crematorium, with interment of ashes in the spring in the family plot at Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
