COMMANDA, Nelson

Passed away at his residence on Bear Island on Thursday January 10th, 2008 at the age of 72 yrs. Survived by his friend Mary Katt of Bear Island. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sibling George, Snache, Lawrence, Fraser, Art, Lila, Morgan and Murdoch. Nelson fell in love with Bear Island as a child and later moved there where he worked as a guide for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed chopping wood and loved animals, especially his dogs. He will also be remembered for sense of humour.



Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, (474-7655) on Sunday January 13th, from 7 until 9 pm and Monday January 14th from 12 until time of service at 2 pm at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Nelson to the Lawrence Commanda Health Centre will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
