Colley, Donald

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald John Colley on Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at the age of 74. His dog, Junior, met him on Rainbow Bridge and joined him for the walk across where they will continue to walk and share food until they come to meet us. Don was predeceased by his parents, Rubin and Dorothy Colley and his siblings: Jimmy, Harry, Eugene, Norman, Rose, Gerry, Anne, and Bob. He is survived by siblings Linda, June, and Dorothy.  He leaves behind his loving and doting wife of 41 years, Barb Colley. He is fondly remembered by his surviving children: Dwayne, Denise (Norm), Darren (Brittany), Frank (Tanya), Jason, Aaron (Kerri), and Cory (Greg). Don was predeceased by his son Don Jr. He was a loved and ever-present Grandpa to 12 grand-children and great grandpa to 4 great grandchildren. His humour and knack at persuading will be missed by all those who knew him. Don had a huge passion for cars, hunting, and fishing. After his fishing trip this summer, he could not stop raving about the “big fish” that got away. Don was proud of all those he called family and lit up when they came for a visit or gave him a ring. A huge thank you to Doctor Cowan and the nurses of the Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, and Inpatient Medicine Units (C3/D3) at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for all their exemplarily care during Dad’s many stays at “The Cottage.”  As per Don’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held at a later time.  Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation Cardio-Respiratory Department in his memory would be appreciated.  Online condolences at www.martynfh.com.
