Bernice Clelland peacefully left this world on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She was surrounded by the love of her son Ian and his partner Landon, at their farm in Loring; just four days short of her 87th birthday. Bernice was predeceased by her husband Clifford M. Clelland (1932-2015). She was the very much-loved mother of Chris (Carol) of Loring, Scott (Cathy) of Saskatchewan, Ian (Landon Anderson) of Loring and Eric of Loring. She leaves cherished memories for her grandchildren Ashley, Jamie, Breanne, Sonya, Travis and Andras, and great-grandchildren Micah, Korben, Naomi, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jesse, Rhyett, Ember Rose, and Madeline. Bernice was predeceased by her brother James Simms (Margaret of Feronia). A lifelong resident of Loring, and daughter of a pioneering family in the area, Bernice was a devout member of St. Andrew’s United Church and contributed the “Argyle News” to the Almaguin News for 22 years. Devoted to her family, Bernice was happiest when they were gathered together. The Clelland family will receive visitors at St. Andrew’s United Church, Port Loring, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. All are welcome, however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, all attendees must book a visiting time by calling the funeral home at 705-724-2024. A funeral service will be held in the church on Thursday at 11:00 am. Numbers are limited and attendance must be reserved (705-724-2024). The Funeral will also be live-streamed (See link below). COVID-19 protocols will be enforced for both visiting and funeral; masks must be worn and physical distancing maintained. Spring interment will take place at Loring Community Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to Argyle Lions Club and All Heart Pet Rescue are suggested.
