CLARKE, Peter

Posted

Peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2005, while in his 85th year. Loving father of Wayne (wife Carmen), Lorne, Eric "Joe" (wife Debra), Peter (wife Sue) and Bob (wife Dianne). Proud grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of three. Also survived by his sister Shirley. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Alma, his son John, his brother George, and parents Alice and George Clarke. A veteran of World War II, Peter served in the Royal Canadian Air Forces as a pilot, flying a Lancaster Bomber. He enlisted in 1942 at the age of 21 and served in England until December 1945. Peter also volunteered at Nipissing Manor and often spoke of his joy in doing so, stating that he volunteered but also made friends in doing so. Peter will be missed by his family and great many friends. Visitation and services will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall). Arrangements are incomplete. For further information please call the Martyn Funeral Home at 472-8811. If desired, donations to Nipissing Manor Auxiliary will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
