Chouinor, Patricia Ann (nee Shoemaker)

Saturday morning (June 14) our beloved mother, Patricia Chouinor, passed away. Patricia Chouinor dedicated her life to children. She worked at Marshall Park Public School in North Bay, teaching Vietnamese immigrant children the finer points of the English language. She worked at Silver Birches Senior Public School, in North Bay, aiding the efforts of Special Education before it was a phenomenon. And finally, she spent the last twenty-five years of her life fully involved in the daycare efforts of the North Bay YMCA. Patricia loved children and their possibilities.
Patricia is survived by her children Kathy (Ben), Kelly (Shawn), and Andrew (Leslie); her grand-children Ruth and Sophie; her sisters Eileen and Mona; her Mother Rose Carr; and many other friends. The family would like to thank the North Eastern Regional Cancer Clinic; the staff on three-east NBGH; and the island of Capri, Italy (her favourite place). A special thank you goes out to Clancy MacDonald who saved us in the early years. The Chouinor family appreciates all of your support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “YMCA Strong Kids Campaign” would be gratefully accepted. Pat’s family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, June 20th from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Her ashes will be interred at the All Saints Mausoleum.
