CHARETTE, Leona (nee Genest)

Born April 26, 1924 passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital- Scollard Site on Sunday January 21, 2007, following a lengthy illness at the age of 83. Predeceased by her beloved husband Victor. A devoted mother, she will be sadly missed by her children, Jacqueline (Paul Regimbald) of North Bay and Leo (Deborah) of Astorville. Loving Memere to Lee Anne (James Annett), Monique (Victor Turgeon), Raymond Regimbald (Cathy), Jessie Charette (Jamal Embrack) all of North Bay and Leo M. Charette (Ricci) of Oakville. Grandmaman to Chantelle and Jimmy Annett, Christopher Larsen, Ryan and Lisa Turgeon, Tyler and Kyle Regimbald. Dear sister of Reina Mathieu and sister-in-law to Aurore Bertin, Roland Charette (Meimi), Lucien Beaulieu and Wilfred Dorion all of North Bay and Marie Charette of San Diego, California. Leona will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Predeceased by her parents Napoleon Charette and Couranna Genest, sisters Pauline Allard, Rhea Gauthier, Viola Dorion and Jeannine Beaulieu.

Leona loved spending time with her family, knitting, and crocheting many crafts, camping and travelling with Victor. She passed away surrounded by family and holding a grandchild's hand.

Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Tuesday January 23, from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. Funeral mass Wednesday January 24 at Sts Anges Church, 232 Maplewood Ave., at 11 am Rev. Father Bernard Cloutier officiating. Interment St Mary's Cemetery.

Donations to the Diabetes Association in memory of Leona will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
