A proud, life-long resident of North Bay, Betty passed away at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday December 27, 2022.

Betty was the beloved wife of Terry Cant and would have celebrated her 85th birthday and 60th anniversary during 2023. Deeply missed by her sons Tracy Cant (predeceased by his wife Cynthia Poupore in 2013) of Victoria and Michael Cant and his wife Isabelle Papillon of Montreal. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Leah, Henri, and Charles. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Dorothy (née Lye) Kinch, and her brother Gary Kinch.

Betty was a very talented painter and was especially proud to share her time and talent with the Waterfront Heritage Carousel, Calvin Presbyterian Church and its Charlotte Small Auxiliary Group, Family Enrichment North Bay Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Bay and District, and the North Bay Heritage Gardeners. Betty generously sponsored several children through World Vision Canada over many years.

Betty’s family will receive friends at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, December 30th, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm followed by a service in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm. Family and friends wishing to attend remotely can join by live stream upon completion of registration at https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony?c=bb05c6ee-53d6-4232-b6ab-135b7edfbeca . Interment at the North Bay Union Cemetery will occur in spring time. If desired, donations to the North Bay and District Humane Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by her family. Online condolences can be made at www.martynfh.com
