Born on October 13th 1971 at the Mattawa General Hospital and passed away suddenly on September 8th 2019 in Ottawa ON in a heroic act of protecting his family.
He was a caring and loyal person who will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nicolle Butler (nee Savard), his children Alex, Sarah, Bradly, Brady and he joins his beloved son Butch Butler for fishing in heaven.
He is also lovingly remembered by his parents and step-parents Alex Butler and Lilian Thomas, Linda Paquette and Mark Paquette, his sisters Jennifer Butler (Denis Decaire), Melanie Ross Lacaille (Terry Lacaille), Sandi-Lynn Ross (Gerry Boudreau) and Anna Butler, his brothers Logan Butler, Craig Butler, Justin Thomas, Bradley Thomas and his grandchildren, Autumn, Liam, Emma, Tristin, Desmond and Grace. He will also be missed by a large community including many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Monday September 16th , 2019 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Tuesday September 17th at 11 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Donations to CHEO/Child life in memory of Steven will be gratefully acknowledged.
