He had a keen interest in genealogy and devoted much time to tracking the blood-lines of his many relatives. Grant served on the planning board for the Municipality of North Bay for many years and subsequently for the Municipality of Callander after his move to North Himsworth Township in 1987. Since the passing of his wife Betty, he had become his grandkids’ number one and most dedicated water ski fan, travelling the country and the globe to watch them compete. Grant will be remembered as a warm, caring, compassionate man with a great sense of humour. He was a committed family man, always placing the needs of his family members above his own. Grant was well read, well informed and never afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he valued.
