The family of Paul Bourdon wish to announce his passing after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the North Bay Regional Hospital. Paul leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Helen (nee Buckell), son's Rick, (Wife Carole), Joe (Wife Jackie), Daughters Kathy Callahan (Husband Tom) and Terri Moreau, (Husband Dan). Twelve grandchildren, Erica, Mike, Samantha, Nicholas, Greg, Eric, Abby, Jillian, Josh, Zach, Ben and Jessie. Survived by sister Pauline McPhail and brother Maurice (wife Lillian) Bourdon of Timmins Ontario, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Grace (nee Nadon) and his brothers Marcel and Jacques Bourdon. Paul spent nearly 40 years in serving his communities, with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the City of Regina Sask Fire Dept, the Ontario Provincial Police and the North Bay Police Dept. During his policing career, some of his many accomplishments included advancing the forensic science of developing latent fingerprints with a fumming process, known as Visu Print. This process revolutionized police investigations world wide. During the 1960's and 1970's he served as the Ontario Provincial Police, District 12 North Bay and District 15 South Porcupine Dive Master, and pioneered many police underwater search and recovery methods, still utilized today. Dad was a dedicated, loving family man who loved spending time with his 12 Grandchildren, on his own little piece of paradise. He will be missed greatly and will always remain in our hearts. Family will be receiving friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle, (Airport Rd) Friday at 10 am. The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Leckie, and all of the nurses and staff at the North Bay Regional Hospital palliative floor, for their compassion and care during Dads journey. Donations to One Kids Place (Furnishings) would be appreciated by the family. Your grateful family.
