Booth, Kerry

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Kerry Booth. Kerry passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at their home in Port Loring on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Kerry is survived by his loving wife, Marla Booth (Moore), with whom he recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary together.  He will be sadly missed by his son Jacob, daughter-in-law, Codie (Ward), his three grandchildren whom he dearly loved and was so proud of, Rhett, Ryann, and Reign, his brother Danny (Lorraine) and sister Patti (Blair Osborne predeceased). He was a cherished son of Lois Booth and predeceased by his father Art Booth, and brothers Randy Booth (Sheri Booth) and Teddy Booth (Karen Roberts). He will also be missed by many extended family members and dear friends.

Kerry was born and raised in Commanda, ON. Growing up on the Booth Farm he learned life skills such as hard work, hunting, and fixing up fast cars that would serve him throughout his life. Kerry eventually moved down the road to Port Loring where he started a family and laid his own roots.

Kerry built Booth Service Centre in Arnstein, ON, and successfully operated it for 32 years. Always looking for a new venture, he also ran a fleet of school buses and operated a local tow truck business. Kerry had a strong sense of community. He enjoyed being an active member of the Argyle Fire Department for 30 years and was the Fire Chief for many of those years. He also served on the Local Service Board, continuously trying to support the community and improve it.

Kerry enjoyed playing hockey with the ‘old timers’ and looked forward to vacationing every December, sitting in his tree stand in minus 30 degree weather with a cup of hot tea, waiting for the next big buck to come along.

Kerry had many stories and cherished his many friendships he made throughout the years growing up in the Port Loring area, attending dances, and the people he met while living in the local area. The family is forever grateful for the amazing friendships and for the love and support over the years, especially through this difficult time.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Argyle Community Centre in Arnstein with a celebration of life Memorial Service to follow (same location) at 1:00 pm.

If you feel so inclined, donations to a charity of your choice would be welcome.
