BONDETT, Wilma 'Billie'

Posted

Don, Dave, and Tim are saddened to advise family and friends of the death of our mother, Wilma 'Billie" Bondett on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, after a life well lived.

Mom was born in northern Manitoba to Charles and Thorbjorg Hutchinson in 1927.

The family moved to North Bay at the beginning of the war. She was part of what has been called the greatest generation who just carried on and got things done.

She married and with Dad, raised the three of us. We were lucky to have her at home, in a time when we could walk home from school for lunch.

Determined and unsentimental, Mom conquered the stick shift on the Morris car Dad bought her, beat lung cancer, and had a seventy-year marriage. She had the patience to do needlepoint and put up with us and the camp at Jumping Caribou Lake where, we suspect she felt she had all the same things to do but without conveniences or electricity. Mom remained proudly independent, living alone after Dad's death until finally she grew tired. We will always love and miss you.

Rest in peace, Mom.
