Son of the late Anthony and the late Ernestine (née Martin) Boivin. Loving husband of 51 years to Thérèse (née Rainville) Boivin of Sturgeon Falls. Cherished father of Bonnie Boivin, Roxanne Annibale (John) and Charlotte Boivin (Hamid) all of Toronto, Ronald Boivin (Mayna) of Carleton Place, Christine Boivin of Ottawa, and Martin Boivin (Nicolina) of Aurora. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Alyssa, Marissa, John-Marc, Robert and Joseph. Dear brother of Jeannine O'Hare of North Bay and Rene Boivin of Jonquiere, P.Q. Predeceased by his brother Gerald Boivin.

Born in Bonfield, Guy lived in Sturgeon Falls for 45 years. He worked for many years as a millwright for his family's lumber mill in North Bay. He also worked for several years at Frood (INCO) in Sudbury, retiring in 1991. A family man, he enjoyed time spent at home and always took time to socialize and “chat” with his neighbours. Guy enjoyed spending his winters in Largo, Florida, and made many good friends there as well. He loved to hunt, and enjoyed most outdoor activities. He was happiest when surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends in La Résurrection Church, Sturgeon Falls, on Saturday, February 2, 2008 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 am. Guy's family wishes to thank Dr. Anawati, Dr. Bowen, the staff of the West Nipissing General Hospital, CCAC, VON and Paramed for their help and compassion. Donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital or mass offerings would be appreciated.
