It is with heavy hearts that the Boire family announces the passing of Georges, who died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on December 31, 2020, the day of his 73rd birthday. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 48 years Denyse, his children Gilles (Kim), Michel (Mindy) and Janique (AJ), his grandchildren Logan, Abriele and Hayden, his sister Claudette Pachkowski (Mike; deceased), his brother Maurice (Claudette; deceased), his mother-in-law Fleurette Cousineau (Aurélien; deceased), his siblings-in-law Guy Cousineau (Brenda), Louise George (Peter), Cécile Forget (Luc), Danielle Therrien (Guy), as well as his nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, Regina and René. Georges had a love for life and never wanted to miss a moment. There was nothing that he liked better than an interesting conversation and could engage anyone on a variety of topics. His happy place was the family cottage on Lac Témiscamingue and he was most content working on his many projects, sitting on the deck reading a good book, out on the lake fishing or having a bonfire with his family. He was passionate about sports and would happily spend hours watching sporting events in person or on TV, and his family will fondly remember his shouts of happiness or frustration while fully engrossed in the game. Georges’ greatest love was his family and he was their biggest cheerleader in supporting all of their dreams and goals. He cherished the Cousineau family gatherings and will forever be thankful to Mrs. Cousineau for her motherly love and always treating him like one of her own. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Melanie O’Grady, the Nurses, Doctors and Staff of the C3 Palliative Care Unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, and the wonderful Personal Support Workers at CarePartners for your care, support and compassion throughout Georges’ illness. In keeping with Georges’ wishes, cremation will occur at Whispering Pines Funeral Home. A celebration of life will occur at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate donations in Georges' memory to the North Bay Food Bank, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
