BLAKE, Thelma Margaret (nee Gillespie)

Died peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Scarborough General Hospital in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Vincent James Blake. Loving mother to Terry, Gordon (Linda) and Glenn (Dawna). Generous and caring Nana to Jessica, Logan, Shannon and Colin. Beloved sister of Dorothy (Keith) Hicks, Boissevain, Man., the late Lorraine Gillespie and the late Glenn (Dorothy) Gillespie. Lifetime companion to Vince, an RCAF captain and member of the Canadian Foreign Service, she called the world her home. Thelma was the anchor, creating a home from any circumstance or location for husband and family. She loved gathering with family and friends, hosting fabulous meals and entertaining her guests. Thelma was the life of any party. We will miss her terribly. At Thelma's request, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life was held on Sunday, September 11, 2005 in Kitchener. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Red Cross Kitchener-Waterloo Branch - Katrina Relief Fund, 186 King Street South, Kitchener, ON N2J 1P9 or by calling the Westmount Funeral Chapel at (519) 743-8900. Interment will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa, ON at a later date.
