BINGHAM, Eunice (Carr)

The family announces with sorrow the passing of Eunice (Carr) Bingham into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Feb. 28, 2008 at North Bay General Hospital. Eunice was born into a pioneer family on a farm west of Earlton on March 10, 1919. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in French literature and taught school in Englehart, Timmins, Rollet (PQ) and ultimately Owen Sound at Westside High School where she chaired the French dept. for many years. Eunice was involved in various capacities at Camp Joli B, a Christian childrens/youth camp in Rollet. She sponsored and led Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship groups for high school students for many years and was a source of great encouragement to many Christian workers and missionaries in Canada and abroad throughout her lifetime. Eunice was a first rate amateur landscape artist. Her watercolours and oil paintings have been featured at numerous exhibitions and showings and grace the hallways and living rooms of many homes. Prints of her paintings have adorned the face pages of greeting cards. Eunice was happily married to Joe Bingham who predeceased her in 1986. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Annie Carr, her siblings and their spouses: Bethuel Carr (Violet), Lemuel Carr (Louise) and Iris (Carr) Hamilton (Bill). She is survived by son Herb St. George (Colline), North Bay, son Jim Bingham (Norma), Toronto, grandsons: Roger and Herbert St. George, nephews and nieces; Bert Carr (Eileen), Lakefield On., Elmer Carr (Lorna), Port Perry, Nora Borgford (Robert) Earlton, Dr. Len Carr (Carole Anne), Kilbride, Alberta, Saxena (Ishwar) Beeton, Thelma Laferriere (Robert) Ronald, and Ralph Carr (Diane) Timmins and many grandnephews and grandnieces with whom she enjoyed a close and loving relationship. Eunice is also survived by many first generation Canadians, including Ruthie Bui, who refer to Eunice as their Canadian mother. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Sunday from 7-9 pm and on Monday from 10-11:30 am. The funeral service will be held on Monday, 12 noon at Bethel Gospel Chapel. Cremation with interment of ashes at the Earlton Gospel Hall Cemetery. If desired donations to the Gideon Bible Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
