(1929-2015) in his 87th year passed away suddenly Saturday, October 10th at his residence. Beloved husband of 63 years to Thelma (Lamothe) Besner. Dear father of Darlene Hotte (Steve) (and the late Ron Hotte), Ken Besner and predeceased by his infant son Carl. Left to mourn are his grandchildren Lisa (Paula) Hotte, Francine (Matt) Griffith, Stefanie Hotte, and Tyler Besner. He will also be missed by his cherished great grandchildren Haleigh Hotte, Dryden and Adison Griffith, Merik and Malie Morley-Hotte and many nieces and nephews. Will be missed by his sisters Janet (Eddy) Leblanc, Claudette (Murray) McAllister, sisters-in-law Claire Besner (late Bruno), Desneiges Lamothe (late Clifford), Kay Lamothe-Courcy (late Edward). Predeceased by his parents Louis and Delia (St John) Besner, his brothers Ernest, Leo, Bruno, his sister Theresa Villeneuve. Rene enjoyed many years as councillor of the town of Bonfield and then the Township of Bonfield. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, member of the Bonfield Golden Age Club, was on the financial committee of the parish, and had served as a board member of the Caisse Populaire de Bonfield Ltee. He was known for his sense of humor and memorable personality. As well as, Mr. B was well liked and respected in his community because of his many involvements. He coached several hockey and baseball teams, and served as a volunteer fire fighter for the township of Bonfield. Pallbearers Paula and Lisa, Fran and Matt, Stefanie and Tyler. Visitation will be held at the Bonfield Parish Hall on Tuesday, October 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9p.m. . Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste. Bernadette’s Parish on Wednesday, October 14th at 11 a.m. Interment will follow. If desired donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ste.
