With great sadness the Bernard family announces the passing of Ronald Joseph Paul Bernard on Sunday June 29th 2008 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta in his 43rd year. Survived by his wife Wendy Bernard of Airdrie, Alberta, mother Dolly Bernard, sister Tracy (Dean) Maxwell, daughter Kristyn Leblanc, uncle Ron Bernard, aunts Adrienne (Tom) Belanger, Louise (Ron) Montreuil, surrogate brothers, Rob (Tanya) Bernard, Aaron (Beth) Bernard, Brian (Sue) Belanger, Mike (Sherry) Belanger, Roy (Bev) Cameron, niece Tara Maxwell, and “Uncle Ron“ to many other nieces and nephews. Ron was born and raised in Mattawa. After joining the army he enlisted in the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and Commando 2 Airborne Regiment. Due to an injury he left the army and moved to Calgary. After working for many other companies out west he decided to open his own company Brigg Demolition and operated his business until his passing. Ron was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Friends may call at the MARTYN & SLOAN Mattawa Chapel on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Anne's Church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment of ashes to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery. If desired donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 254.
