BENSON, Joan Beecroft

At the North Bay General Hospital - McLaren Site, on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Joan Henry, was the beloved wife of the late Paul Allen Benson, she was 81 years old. Loving sister of Kathryn Horn of North Bay. Predeceased by sisters Margaret Henry, Betty Henry and Isobel Jackson, by her brothers in law Vic Jackson and Thomas Horn and by her nephew Vic Jackson Jr. Remembered by her nephews Tom Horn (wife Amanda) of Toronto and Michael Horn (wife Chris) of Calgary, by her great nephews Todd, Bradley and Jordan her great nieces Janelle and Kaelan and by her great great nephews Harley and Barrett.



Joan left North Bay as a young woman to pursue a professional Dance and Singing career. It is through her love of dance and music that she met the love of her life in Paul. Together they traveled the U.S. performing and enjoying life. Always humble about her success, she was an inspiration to her family and friends. She ended her work life working in Boston working with a large Law firm.



A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church on Friday, December 22nd at 11 am. Her ashes will be interred in the Henry Family Plot at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall).
