BÉLANGER, FERNAND

Passed away at the Mattawa General Hospital on Tuesday October 2, 2007 at the age of 82. Fern was the beloved husband of Marie (née Gervais) and loved father of 8 children, grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 4. Fern will be greatly missed and always remembered by his children Edward (Lise), Gaetan (Donna), Ghislain (Lise), Rejean , Doris (Patrick), Jean-Marc (Pierrette), Fleurette (James) and Jeannette (Yves). Loving Pepère of Ken, Kevin, Joelle, Natalie, Tanya, Jocelyne, Natasha, Jessica, Kyle, Jana, Naomie and Myles. And great grandchildren Emma, Alexie (Ken & Chantal), Connor and Cameron (Joelle & Steve). Fern was a hoisting engineer by trade. An avid hunter and fisherman who loved to spend time outdoors with his boys...and respected by all who knew him. He was also the heart of the Mattawa arena for many years. A special thank you to the staff of the Mattawa General Hospital for the care they provided over the past year.



Friends may call at St. Anne`s Church on Thursday from 6-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. Fern`s ashes will be interred at St. Anne`s Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Mattawa chapter of the Autism Society.
