BELANGER, Edward Albert “Tigua”

Passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at the Mattawa Hospital on Friday, November 25th, 2011. Tigua was the beloved husband of Joyce (nee Murphy), he was 72 years old. Loving father of Brent ( Shelley) and Darren all of Mattawa. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kristen, Brody, Amanda, Andrew and Jennifer. Dearly loved brother of Evelyn Colbourn and her husband Myran of Oshawa, Adelard Belanger, Estelle Smith and her husband Ken, Laurel Belanger all also of Mattawa, Pauline Leipert and her husband Brian of Regina and Bernice Belanger of North Bay. He was predeceased by his parents Nishe and Flore Belanger and his siblings Peter and Louise. Tigua was very proud of his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and his time fishing. For many years he was very active in the Metis Association in the area. A Memorial Service will be held at St.Anne’s Parish (Mattawa) on Wednesday, November 30th at 11:00 am. Interment of follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. If desired, donation to the Mattawa General Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn & Sloan “Mattawa Chapel”.
