In loving memory of Ted (Bud) Beaudry who suddenly passed at 71 years of age on June 29, 2023.

The sadness of this loss will be felt by Wendy Walford, his best friend and spouse of 23 years; dearly loved by his son TJ Beaudry of Sudbury and daughter Jen Beaudry (Nick) of Adelaide, Australia; his loving stepsons Adam Brown of North Bay and Jeb Brown of Sudbury. Ted absolutely loved the young people in his life including Nye and Amos (Jen and Nick).  He was always known as “Uncle Bud” to the many nieces and nephews he was so proud of and their children- a nickname his own father gave him as a little boy.

Beloved son of the late Theodore Emmanuel Beaudry and Gertrude Burns, both from Massey. Bud was a dear brother to Patrick Beaudry (Claire), Sally Hanson (Emery), Arlene Vendetti (Rick, deceased), Anita Lowe (Mick, deceased), and predeceased by his sister Verena Beaudry.

Ted proudly served with the Greater Sudbury Police Service for nearly 30 years. He made many life-long friends and mentored many young officers as they entered the career he loved. He had a never ending repertoire of on-the-job stories that he loved to share. They were always told with passion, wit and that captivating sense of humor everyone loved. His somewhat “intimidating police sergeant” appearance quickly dissolved, as people soon realized he was in reality a “life sized” Teddy Bear. Ted lived most of his life in and around Sudbury and upon retirement moved to their beautiful St. Charles Farm. He was an incredible builder and created a country paradise where he spent peaceful days driving his tractor, cutting and piling wood and caring for the horses and dogs. A great day for our Ted was spent in the workshop, the barn and the bush. He was an avid curling fan and a dedicated sports shooter competing over the years with his closest friends, always ready to share laughs and share knowledge with newcomers in the sport. A natural outdoorsman, Ted would anxiously wait as the leaves turned every fall to return to the Burns Family Hunt Camp in Powassan to do more visiting than hunting!

Ted was a gentle giant of a man. His calm, soft voice will be heard forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ted’s life on July 30th from 1-4pm at the Sudbury Police Association Hall, located at 195 Applegrove Street, Sudbury, On P3C1N4

Donations to the Shirley and Jim Fielding Northeast Cancer Centre in Sudbury, Sudbury Infant Foodbank or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
