BARNHARDT, William John "Buck" (1937-2019)

Buck, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the age of 82, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Patricia "Pat" (nee Marion) of 62 years. Buck was the loving father of Catherine Barnhart (Norm Lessard) of North Bay, Terry Barnhart of Calgary, Lori Barnhart (Ross MacDonald) of Cambridge and Grace Barnhardt (Rick Forth) also of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Robert, André, Ava, Myah, Ashley, and Carter and by his great grandchildren Jocelyne, Adaline, Preston, Peyton, Rowen and by his many nieces and nephews. He was the dear brother of Shirley O'Donnell of North Bay. The family is grateful to Dean Church, who Buck regarded as part of his family, for his many years of friendship and support.
Buck was a Conductor with the ONR for 35 years, a member of the North Bay Golf and Country Club for over 40 years and an avid gardener who shared the bounty of his efforts with many people while on his daily walking treks throughout the city. He loved spending hours and days on his houseboat cruising on Trout Lake and visiting friends.

Bay Regional Health Center, the LHIN and the Northeast Cancer Centre who cared for Buck throughout his illness. A very special thank you to Dr. Trenker and Dr. Leckie for their caring and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Grande, on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 4 PM until 7 PM. If so desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated.
