BARHAM, Frank

Quietly but with grace by which he had entered this world. Frank Earl Barham abandoned earthly chains, to return home. He was a son, brother, soldier, uncle, husband, railroader, father, grandfather, volunteer and a friend. He lived life large, believing in those thinks so often times forgotten…Love, honour, principles, integrity and joy. We write and read this, mourning his absense but celebrate his life. Frank was in his 80th year, born October 3, 1924. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Laura, and his brothers Leslie (Rip), Harold and Albert (Bert). He is survived by his brother Arthur and his sisters Bernice Barham and Ann VanGorger. Frank’s sons Mark and Brent were by his side at the time of his passing at Cassellholme on Saturday, January 10, 2004. Mark’s wife, Caroline, daughters Whitney and Kelsey and Brent’s wife Diane, daughter Shannon and son Derek, will all miss Pa and his smile, as well will his caregivers, his niece Brenda Passmore, and Doris Biron. Some of Frank’s accomplishments included active Life Membership in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23, for over 45 years. He held numerous elected office within the branch including President, culminating with being awarded the Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal. Frank was instrumental in starting a Parabus service for the disable in the city of North Bay and he was able to outfish anyone who dared step in the boat with him. Family welcoming friends a the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted by Major Carletta Thornhill of the Salvation Army in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
