BARHAM, Arthur Henry "Art"

Quietly, but with grace by which he had entered this world, Arthur Henry Barham, passed away at the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Saturday, December 31, 2005. Art was the husband of the late Joyce Bird and Vi Farmer, he was 83 years old. Loving father of Jonathon of North Bay and he was predeceased by his daughter and her husband Elizabeth and Geoff Miller. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Ann VanGorger of North Bay and Bernice Barham of Flesherton. Art was predeceased by his parents David and Grace Barham and by his four brothers Leslie David "Rip", Harold Edward, Albert "Bert" and Frank Earl. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was longtime member and worker for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23. Art was a quiet charity worker, he often would assist others unselfishly, expecting and accepting only a simple Thank-you. He enjoyed golf, curling and his winters in Florida. Art's family will receive friends in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 4th, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. conducted Major Carletta Thornhill of the Salvation Army. Cremation will follow the service and Art's ashes will be interred in the family plot in the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund will be appreciated by the family.
