It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barclay Barber on January 22, 2023 in his 82nd year.
He passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Barclay was the son of the late William Barber and Ella Simpson. He is now reunited with his beloved late wife Connie Barber (2017) and his predeceased children Susan Barber (1966), Steve Barber (2009) and his loyal four-legged pal, Barney. Survived by his children Dan Barber (Lianne), Jane Costello (Brian) and Joanne Dias (Rick). He will be sadly missed by his beloved grandchildren Jacklyn and Laura Barber, Jamie (Brendan) and Mike (Ashley) Costello and Taylor and Madison Dias. Leaving behind three great grandchildren Rowan and Logan Cunningham and Mateo Costello. Barclay was a loving brother to Betty Hale (deceased), Myrle Barber (deceased), Diane Scobie and Beverly Tracewell.
Barclay will be remembered as a long time Powassan community member as a volunteer firefighter, ambulance driver and a legion member. His sense of humour and sarcasm will be missed by all. He will be remembered for his love for road trips with his wife, spending time with his family and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. Special thanks to the wonderful health care team at NBRHC; they were a big part of making Barclay’s last days comfortable and easy for him and his family. He will forever be missed and loved.
