Bainbridge

July 27, 1952 – February 14, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who passed peacefully at home on the morning of Valentine’s Day with her family by her side.

Millie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Edgar, and her daughters Violet (Terry Maurice) and Nancy (Buddy Millar). She was the proud and loving grandmother of Kaylie, Kristin, Kristopher, and Nicholas (predeceased 1996).

Millie will be sadly missed by her sister Olive (Andre Lavoie); sisters-in-law Millie Baldwin (Roy predeceased), Lois Bainbridge (Hughie predeceased), Jane Fawcett (Bill), and brother-in-law Jack Bainbridge (Marion), along with many nieces and nephews and her furry companion, Buddy the dog.

Predeceased by her parents Alan (1968) and Bertha Norman (1974); siblings Violet Norman, Marion Knight, Sydney (John) Norman, Eileen Wilson and Lyle Norman, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Millie’s life was devoted to her family; she always encouraged our dreams, and did not judge our decisions (no matter how crazy or bad they were).

In Millie’s younger years, she was an avid fisherwoman, and could be found most summer days fishing along the banks of the North River, casting with whomever wanted to tag along. Millie loved the simple life, and never pretended to be anything that she was not. Millie was always there to lend an ear (or a shoulder), and family and friends could always count on that.

Millie was also a talented guitar player and singer, who spent countless nights playing with family and friends. Unfortunately, respiratory issues had prevented her from doing so over the last several years.

Thank you to all of her family, friends, and neighbours for everything you’ve done for her over the last few years – it truly meant the world to her. A special thank you to Dr. Richard Trenker for the exceptional care and home visits provided to our mom.

In keeping with Millie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart & Stroke Foundation in her memory.

Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.
