BAIN, Violet Irene

Peacefully at Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Center, Corbeil, on Saturday, February 25, 2012, in her 95th year. Violet Irene (Ratz) was predeceased by her husband William Ernest Bain (d. 2008). She was the loving mother of Marilyn Smith (Ted deceased) of Callander, Lorraine Hart of British Columbia and David Bain (Diane) of Callander; Grandmother of Brent Hart, Trevor Hart (Laura), Sarah Caruso (Darren), Emily Bain, William (Billy) Bain (Lynn), and the late Rachel Bain and Great-grandmother of Keara, Nevaeh, Jude, Tessa and Charlie Caruso. Vi was the dear sister of Vernon Ratz of Huntsville, Kenneth Ratz of Powassan, Noreen Arthur of St. Agatha and the late Ray Ratz. Vi and Bill operated Sunbeam Bungalows in Callander for many years. Vi was a faithful member of Callander Knox United Church, was a talented artist and a longtime member of the Callander Women’s Institute. The Bain family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Callander Knox United Church on Thursday at 11:00 am. Spring Interment will take place at Callander Union Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in memory of Violet to the Callander Knox United Church.
