BAILEY, Ona Mary (Ego)

Posted

It is with great sadness that the family announces Ona’s passing at Cassellholme on Friday, January 29, 2010, in her 93rd year. Ona was predeceased by her husband Earle (1993) and her loving sons Sgt. Ronald Bailey (North Bay Police Force) (1980) and Gerald Bailey (1977). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters-in-law Louise Robinson (Bill), of North Bay and Ann Brokelman (Erle), of Scarborough. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Wayne and Michael Bailey, and Rhonda Ruddy (Sean), and her great-grandsons Calder and Carson Ruddy, all of North Bay. Ona was born on June 8, 1917 in Armour Township. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jessie (Pink) Ego. Ona married Earle Bailey on July 1, 1941 and they moved to North Bay in 1949. Ona had very fond memories of the friendships she made with the many staff and students during her years of service at J.W. Trusler Public School. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed doing needlepoint and crafts. She and Earle spent many summers at their cottage on McQuaby Lake. Ona will be missed by her many friends, including Betty Merrall, of North Bay and Clara and Rita, from Cassellholme. Very special thanks are extended to all of the caring nurses and staff of Cassellholme, who always appreciated Ona’s smile and sense of humour. Visitation will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Monday from 2 until 4 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 2 at 11 am. Spring interment to follow at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Omond United Church – General Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
