Aumont , Marcel

Marcel Georges Aumont, 63, passed away on January 19th, 2020 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, Ontario after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Beloved husband of wife Jovette (née Giroux), and loving father of his three daughters Monelle, Mylène (Alec O’Donnell) and Zophie (Joseph Nucara). Cherished Pépé to his two grand-children Luca and Eloïse. Dear brother to Denise (Henri Daguerre), Huguette (Roger Coupal), André (Nicole Malboeuf), Colette (Donald Cousineau), Cécile (Rhéal Cyr), Jacques (Cécile Malboeuf), Gérald (Denise Rainville) and Lynn (Marc St-Jean). Beloved brother-in-law to Michèle, Lyne (Gérard Miner), Gates (Francine Charron), Jean-Luc (Diane Hurtubise), Lévis and Joelle. He also says goodbye to the many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Marcel joins his father and mother Yvan and Marie-Blanche (née Daviau), his two brothers Gilbert (Gilberte Chef) and Jean-Claude (Normande Dubeau) and his in-laws Wilfrid and Françoise (née Lauzon), as well as other aunts, uncles, friends and family that we have said goodbye to throughout the years.

Marcel lived a wonderful life being a dedicated family man that made every person who had the pleasure of encountering him feel welcomed into his life. He was known for his sense of humour, his wonderful stories and always being able to lend a listening ear along with some words of wisdom. His boisterous laugh, gift of gab and friendly demeanour always made him the centre of attention in the room.

He leaves a life of hard work to ensure he could help provide for his children and give them all the opportunities to become who they wanted. Marcel was never one to turn down a good hot meal, a coffee and a chat, a new project to take on around the house or quality time with the people he loved. These cherished moments and stories will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Saturday January 25, 2020 at 10am followed by a luncheon in the church basement.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in memory of Marcel to the Pancreatic Cancer Society of Canada: https://pancreaticcancercanada.ca/ways-to-give/.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in C3 and their efforts to ensure his comfort and care.
