It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Darlin (Rollins) Armitage at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday November 02, 2023, at the age of 75 years. She was a devoted mother to Armand Armitage, Sherry-Lynne (Derrick) Restoule, Thomas Armitage and Nicole (Devon) Hubbell. She was a grandmother to Brandei (Yves) Bazinet, Sammantha Armitage and Steven (Danielle) Koster. Great-Grandmother to Zackary and Bradley Bazinet. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Darlin is survived by her brother Wayne (Sinikka)Papin and her sisters Patricia (Andre) Morin and Debrah (James) Savage. She is predeceased by her parents Arnold and June (Papin) Rollins and her brother Kevin Rollins. Best friends to the end with Miss Piggy, Fiddlesticks, Valentine, Genie, Foster and Shadow. Darlin shared two very close special friendships that spanned many years, one with Estelle Edmunds and another with Penny Reed-Andersen. Darlin lived a very full life.  Not only was she a mother, she was an auntie and a grandmother.  She had a great career as a school bus driver and then successfully moved to the North Bay Transit where she spent over 20 years before her retirement. Darlin enjoyed a good life of fishing, travelling, and planting.  She did not let her size, age or sex deter her from her accomplishments of riding her Honda Goldwing to driving a transport. She enjoyed many years of raising Angora rabbits, goats, and chickens. Throughout her life she enjoyed many sleepovers with the children within the family. Those who knew her well can attest to her great sense of humour.  Darlin was always ready, willing, and available to offer both guidance and assistance. Our fondest memories included a round of cooking ranging from a Banana Cream pie to an exquisite Christmas dinner. Many thanks to the emergency staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital and the Critical Care Unit at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (Sturgeon Falls) on Thursday November 9, 2023 for a memorial visitation between the hours of 11 am to 2 pm. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Go Fund Me-Foster for two-year-old dog with hip dysplasia, would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
