It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Eastholme, Powassan on Saturday, July 7, 2012. She was born in Schenectady, New York on August 17, 1919. Predeceased by her loving husbands Arnold Selwood (1964) and Leslie John Anderson (2011) and her son Edward (Ted) Selwood (2008). Left to mourn are her sons Doug Selwood (Carol) of Powassan, David Selwood (Jill) of North Bay; her daughters Dianne Graham and Marlene Gaw of Willow Beach, Judy Newton (Keith) of North Bay; daughter-in-law Susan of Medicine Hat, Alberta; grandchildren Richard, Douglas, Susan, Steven, Stacey, Annette, Gerry, Paul, Becky, Brian, Anton, Adam, Corey, Matt, Mike, Missy and 19 great-grandchildren. Our mom lived a full and rewarding life and was an inspiration to so many. We want to give a very special thank you to Eastholme for the professional but very compassionate care they gave our mom for the last six years. Friends and relatives will be received at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Legion Tribute Service will be held at 6:45 pm. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 17at 11 am at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Powassan. Interment to follow at Powassan Union Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to St. Mary’s Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
