AMBROSIUS, Gertrude Maria

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Gertrude passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and close friends, on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. Gertrude was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Erb. Gertrude will be lovingly remembered as an exceptional mother by her daughter Carol Stalkie and her husband Carman of Brampton and by her son Edward Ambrosius of Toronto. Loving and dear grandmother of Andrew Stalkie. She will be dearly remembered by her sister Helga Twaroch of Austria and by her mother-in-law Charolotte Babrowski of Whitby. She was predeceased by her sisters Margaretha Burger and Johanna Strobl. Gertrude was born in Vienna, Austria on February 20, 1931. She immigrated to Canada in August of 1954, living in the Toronto area until moving to North Bay in 1975. Gertrude's family will receive friends in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, September 17th from 2 to 4 and also 6:30 until time for services in the Funeral Home Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Gertrude's family, with deep appreciation would like to thank the VON, Dr. Cano, Dr. Vaughan, Paramed and the CCAC for their care which allowed Mom to die with dignity in her home.
