ALLISON, Constance Leila Mae (nee Wagg)

Posted

Allison Constance
Connie passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Cassellholme on August 24th, 2020 after recently celebrating her 84th birthday on August 6th.

Connie is predeceased by her parents Harvey and Leila (nee Brown) and her son Randy.

She leaves behind her sister Shirley MacKinnon (Wayne), brother David Wagg (Suzanne) and sons Kevin (Lisa), Kelly (Debbie), Bradley (Joelle), her two aunts (Colleen and Alberta) and sadly missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mom spent her working life employed by the Canadian Government at NORAD as a telephone operator and spent her spare time and retirement gardening, knitting, cooking, travelling and playing bridge accompanied by her good friend Marlene. Her home was always welcoming for friends and family to visit and enjoy good food, good gossip and good wine or tea.

Mom’s declining mental health amplified her fierce independence and made her a challenge to care for but the staff at Cassellholme went above and beyond their normal duties to ensure mom felt loved, safe and happy. The family feels blessed for the contributions of the entire staff at Cassellholme and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paige, Jason, Melissa, Katherine, Dana, Michelle and Dr. Prins.

We would also like to thank Dr. Shaw for his expert care and guidance over the years as her dementia progressed.

A burial and celebration of life will take place next summer on Manitoulin Island with close friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.  Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.
