With his family at his side Fred Allen died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Tuesday March 16th, 2010, at the age of 82 years. For the past 58 years Fred has been the devoted and beloved husband of Sadie (nee Black). The proud and loving father of Bill (Linda Ward), of North Bay and Vickey Paterson of Kewsick he will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Krystyna (Jason) Rebecca and Amanda, his great grandchildren Madison & Dylan and his extended family including Jason (Jody), Dylan & Kali, & April (Phil) & Rowan. The dear brother in law of Bob Black (Elsie) and Marion Greno all of North Bay, he was predeceased by his brother Gord. A Professional Engineer, Fred was a long time employee of the Ministry of Transportation, retiring in 1983. For many years Fred and Sadie have been dedicated member s of St. Brice’s Anglican Church. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in St. Brice’s Anglican Church at 11:00am on Saturday March 20, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
