ALLARD, Humphrey

Humphrey passed away peacefully on the day of his 86th birthday, surrounded by his family, on April 15, 2014. Beloved husband of  the late Jacqueline (nee Desrosier), loving father to Paulette Mantha (Roger Tremblay) of Sudbury, Denis Allard (Lynda) of North Bay, Suzanne Allard (Marc Mirault) of Sudbury, and Monique MacIntyre ( Dan ) of Sudbury. He will always be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michelle (Cal), Mary-Katherine (Steve), Chantale (Myron), Franklyn (Marlaina), Shona, William, Alana, Mélanie, Connor and Brennan and his great- grandchildren Magalie and Gabriel, Malik and Max. He will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Humphrey was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine (nee Humphrey), brothers; Jerome, Frank, Raymond and his sisters; Rita Mousseau, Marie Gauthier and Theresa MacMillan. Known as being a dedicated family man, he devoted the last 12 years caring at home for the love of his life, Jacqueline, who battled Alzheimer’s. The importance of family, his grandchildren and great-grand children was always evident. Humphrey loved the time he spent camping, being at the cottage, playing cards and he loved to instigate a good debate. Dad was a meticulous craftsman and had the unique distinction of being a 50 year member of The Carpenters Union Local 2486. Family will receive friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home on Monday April 21st from 2 -4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully acknowledged.
