MONTREAL — There will be no shortage of coaches at the Montreal Alouettes training camp.
The CFL club announced Thursday it has extended an invitation to each Quebec university team and the Montreal Blitz, a professional women's squad, to send two coaches to its training camp.
The Alouettes said Bishop's, Concordia, Laval, McGill, the University of Montreal and the Blitz have all accepted their offer.
"We sit atop the football pyramid in Quebec, and we want to take concrete steps in that direction, which is why we are inviting all these coaches to our training camp," Alouettes GM Danny Maciocia said in a statement. "We want to help develop coaches from here.
"They will be able to take part in a professional camp, as they will actively take part in the team's practices and meetings. They will have unlimited access to our coaching staff. We want to build lasting relationships with our coaches from here."
Montreal's training camp is scheduled to open May 15 and run through June 2.
