Canada's Eliot Grondin wins silver in World Cup snowboard cross

SIERRA NEVADA, Spain — Canada's Eliot Grondin won silver at a World Cup snowboard cross competition Saturday.

Grondin, from Sainte-Marie, Que., finished behind Germany's Leon Ulbricht in the big final for his sixth podium appearance of the World Cup season.

American Jake Vedder took the bronze. 

Liam Moffatt of Truro, N.S., was 12th.
